The William Floyd High School Career and Technical Education Culinary Arts program is hosting its fifth annual Taste of the Town event on Nov. 7.
The high school’s award-winning culinary arts program offers juniors and seniors the opportunity to work with trained chefs and earn college credits for post-secondary education in the culinary arts.
Taste of the Town, which began in 2016, gives these students the opportunity to network with local restaurateurs, as well as cook and serve a dish of their own, all while raising money for the district’s CTE programs and food pantry.
Restaurants that will donating their time, food and expertise include Applebee’s, Arooga’s Grill House, Bernie’s Family Pizza, Buckley’s Irish Pub, Build A Sandwich, Butera’s, Coral Restaurant, Del Fuego, Giacalone’s Pork & Pasta Deli, Herbie’s Crumb Cake, Hero Haven & More, Inc., Ice Cream Cottage, JC’s at Mike’s Place Too, John’s Pizzeria, LaVolpe Ristorante & Anton’s Pizzeria, Mama Lisa’s Restaurant, Millers Ale House, Onofrio’s, Painters’ Restaurant, Prime, Sea Cove Restaurant, Spiro’s, TJ’s Hero Shop, Tend Coffee and more.
In addition, representatives from other CTE programs, including automotive technology, barbering, business, building trades and construction, cosmetology, medical assisting and small engine repair, will also be in attendance to show off their projects.
