Nino’s pizza is offering a sweetheart of a deal throughout the month of February.

Italian food lovers who order a half-tray of baked ziti; baked manicotti; or penne with broccoli, garlic and oil will get a whopping 25 percent discount on their entire food order at the Mastic Beach eatery.

With the Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day, ownership said February is the perfect month to show appreciation to the loyal customers who have supported the pizzeria throughout the duration of the pandemic. It’s also perfect timing for the arrival of the Lenten season later this month, during which many Catholics look for meatless meal options on Fridays.

“We are doing this as a ‘Thank you’ to the community for supporting us through COVID,” said Tricia Antonacci, whose father Vinny owns Nino’s. “And also because we know people are still affected by the pandemic, and we would like to give the community the opportunity to eat good food at an affordable price.”

Here’s how the deal works: The half-trays typically cost $40 each. But with the discount, they will sell for $30. Anything added to the order — pizza, heroes, salads and entrees — will also be discounted 25 percent.

Nino’s, operating at 201 Mastic Beach Road for 45 years, temporarily closed in late December and early January when Vinny Antonacci — already battling leukemia and diabetes — was diagnosed with COVID-19. By the second week of January, he had made a full recovery.
